Review: This series has got to be my all time favorite series! If I was stranded on a deserted island and could only have one series of books, it's be this one.

I adored Penryn's character from page one of Angelfall and only grew to love her more throughout the series. I'd definitely want her on my side in a fight. Penryn was such a great MC because of her snarky, sarcastic attitude, her realistic view on the life she is currently living, and her overall kick butt-ness! Some of the things she said throughout the series really brought her home for me and kept her character feeling "real". I could honestly believe that she was a 17-year-old girl trapped in an angel infested post-apocalyptic world. Not to mention the status of her relationship. ;)

Raffe! OH RAFFE!! You, my friend, are absolutely fantastic! Seriously though, Raffe was almost as much of a favorite character as Penryn. There is just so much about him I loved. His condescending attitude and feelings towards humans throughout the first novel, and then his eventual love for one! *squeals internally* More on that later! I also really enjoyed getting to meet his Watchers in this final installment and getting to really learn and delve into Raffe's past. It made it a lot easier to understand and comprehend why he is the way he is when it comes to Daughters of Man . . . not to mention the fact that it made me want to re-read the series knowing other important tid-bits of information!

All I really have to say about Raffe and Penryn is:

RAFFE AND PENRYN FOREVER!!

I briefly mentioned the Watchers . . . let's talk more about them! Um, really though, I love love loved them! If Susan decided to write a spin-off series about Raffe and his Watchers, I'd definitely read about them. They were such great comedic relief and brought the best out in Raffe while all Hell was breaking loose. They definitely were the piece I didn't know was missing until they were introduced.

Okay, so there was one thing that I was slightly disappoint with. That would be the whole weird, crazy deal surround Penryn's mother. I felt that it was never really addressed as to what was "wrong" with her. Like, was she really crazy the entire time or was she just seeing things. For example: when the demons are attacking and she starts pelting them with rotten eggs that just happens to remind the demons of Hell and scares them off . . . HOW'D SHE KNOW!?!? A bit more clarification on that subject would have been appreciate, but that really was the only thing keeping this series from being perfect.

So, if you have yet to pick up Penryn & the End of Days and be blown away by her amazing story, you should probably go and pick this series up!!

Review: Oh gosh . . . where do I even begin! Well, I've definitely had to wait too long for this incredible piece of work! Susan Ee, you're absolutely fabulous! You have managed, once again, to completely blow my mind with your utter amazing-ness! After finishing this, my mind was just, like, ALL OVER THE PLACE!! So, since my thoughts aren't as collected as I'd prefer, the best thing I can do is act out my feelings (through gifs) for this review. I'm also doing this because I'm afraid I may accidentally spoil any future readers who have yet to feast their eyes on this amazing and wonderful piece of literature!

End of Days starts off, literally, the second after World After ends. For those of you that need a slight refresher, they (Penryn, Raffe, Paige, and her Locusts) have all just escaped from the new aerie and are flying into the sunset. Seriously though, if you were to turn to the next non-existent page in World After you'd read this. No time has passed at all and I loved that!

Okay, I'm sorry for the total and complete overload of gifs, but it was the safest way to do the most spoiler free review I could! Honestly though, this series is my absolute favorite. If I were to recommend a series to anyone, it'd be this one! Although I did feel there were some things that could have been expounded upon a little more at the end, overall, I'm glad they weren't because it gives each reader the freedom and ability to come up with their own explanation.

My love for this series knows no bounds!!

World After

Without them, he can't rejoin the angels, can't take his rightful place as one of their leaders. When faced with recapturing his wings or helping Penryn survive, which will he choose?

Review: Okay, after simply reading the summary above, how could you not want to continue this amazing series?! World After is just pure awesomeness! Ee has once again proven that she is an incredibly talented author. After just finishing my second time around with Angelfall, I immediately grabbed my copy of World After and did a complete nose dive into all of it's greatness. During the first time I read this book, I was so anxious for Raffe and Penryn to meet up together again that I read up until that point extremely fast (with some skimming in there I will admit) until I got to where they were together again. If you didn't know that they do reunite, well . . . now you do . . . and it's just more incentive to read the book because come on! Who didn't want them to reunite?! Nobody. That's who.

Okay, now to the more technical side of things. So let's see, are their plot holes in this? Well, nope. None. Nadda! Usually with sequels I'll start seeing some inconsistencies in a series. Not with this one! Ee has done such excellent research about the angels and just everything! She has created and weaved a world so tightly that nothing can penetrate it. Penryn is still as kick butt and sarcastic as ever. Raffe as brooding as every. Mom . . . as creepily fantastic as ever. And Paige . . . well, we may need to put Paige down . . . she's really starting to freak me out! Back to Penryn's mom . . . I'm definitely getting more and more interested in just what in the world is going on with that woman. I mean, seriously. What the what! I need to know more details!! Everything she does leaves me with like ten different feels . . . but mainly confusion with a pinch of wariness. Basically, after reading anything involving her I'm left like:

All in all, this sequel basically rocked my world! Ee totally CRUSHED IT! Couldn't be more pleased with where she took the story and the overall progression of it.

Review: Angelfall starts off with a bang and never stops. From page one we are thrust into this incredibly written, post-apocalyptic world over taken by angels. I absolutely loved the whole idea and progression of this book! During that whole ‘fallen-angel’ obsession period that happened a few years back, many of the books dealt with the angels being the good guys and what not. With this one, it is the complete opposite! The angels are feared and wretched! This was such a refreshing spin!

The main character (Penryn Young) was just so completely awesome!!!! She can totally defend and care for herself! I enjoyed that she wasn't reliant on anyone (except Raffe (Rah-fie) getting her to the aerie (angel headquarters in order to save her younger, crippled sister Paige which is totally understandable). 

Speaking of Raffe. Um, can I just express how much I freaking love and whole-heartedly adore his sassiness and sarcastic-ness! He just speaks my language! And the very first words out of his mouth are just like . . . okay, he just had my heart The witty banter between him and Penryn throughout the novel was refreshing and I couldn't help but love both of them even more! But honestly, I have all of the possible feels when it comes to Raffe. 

Ee did an exceptional job of developing the plot, and giving the reader enough details so they were never confused or frustrated. She has blended the perfect amount of horror, action, and sexual tension (between Penryn and Raffe). Angelfall wasn't a very long book either! It’s only 283 pages (at least my copy is), but Ee has somehow managed to pack so much freaking awesomeness into it that a reader can be left with nothing but satisfaction, and the desperate need of the 2nd book, World After, as soon as you finish. Seriously, immediately after finishing this book I was all:

OH!! And the 3rd (and final) installment in this trilogy, End of Days, comes out on May 12, 2015. 

I hope you enjoy this fantastic novel as much as I did!
